Once in a Life Time
On this day; oh how I have been waiting, hoping, praying and it has finally come to be.
As you walk down the isle, you are the most beautiful lady my eyes have ever seen.
A maiden dressed in white, taking my hand as a silent pray is said, Please let this not be a dream.
Standing here looking at you my head now grows light; my heart flutters like a butterfly taking its first flight.
A few precious words are all that is needed for our souls to begin a life as one.
The angels lift their trumpets radiating their song in one glorious tone.
In this moment the world is ours; no wars, no crimes; all that matters is a pledge of love shared between you and I.
Lost in an image of perfection; the preachers words go soft and calm, as if they were carried on a whisper in the blowing wind.
I give to you on this day all I am and all I have.
I give to you my heart, my soul, and my mind.
Two bands of gold finally join you to me and me to you.
Not knowing if I can even say two little words your hand holds mine a little tighter and nervously I say I do.
Sharing our first soft kiss as husband and wife, I whisper softly, You are now my hearts only one. Pictures snap, tears from family and friends rain down; as they cheer the newly union of one.
These seeds I have sewed I will gladly reap.
For they are the seeds of binding two hearts into one love, one soul thanking you for being my friend and now for being my wife, but most of all for making me whole.
