The Shadows Dance on Halloween by *HellsAssassin:iconHellsAssassin:

Alone you sit on this cold October night.
Reading stories of frightful delight, you sit by warm fires light.
Looking up as the clock chimes twelve; you notice the Flames dancing casting shadows upon the walls, your mind Races as they seem to dance and take flight.
Lost in this moment you no longer remember the chapters of lore you intensely reed.
Calmly you sit and watch, as the shadows put on a show filling you with warmth in, as you sit in your warm abode. Once again looking down you read some more.
Startled by a noise from down the hall you peer and gaze into the darkness.
Barely does the fire light shine on its walls.
It was the wind blowing making these old walls creek
Still as you settle in, and once more begin to read, your Eyes travel up down the hall they look and seek.
A flash of lighting cause you to jump, again you here a Tapping, with the sound of rain tapping as it begins to pour.
It’s only an echo, and nothing more, stoking the fire to give More warmth and light.
Curled up next to gentle soothing flames you nod off Napping.
The slamming of a door opens your eyes wide, frightened you cry out who is there as your mind forms terrors never Known before.
Looking at the clock thinking your roommate came in from Halloween partying slamming the bathroom door.
You gasp as you see not even twenty minutes has past twelve, but how could this be?
To your feet you stand you go to see.
Flipping on the light in the hall you look to see where this, Tapping has come to be.
Every step your pulse does quicken, every breath become Long and distant.
To the end of the hall you stand and see nothing is here Except for me.
Turning to return to your warm fires light, a cold chill creeps touching the back of your neck.
You jump breathing deeply, your heart faints a beat, as you turn your body begins to shake; your eyes open wide as you slowly turn in shock, but there is nothing to see.
As you try to calm your nerves you tell yourself it was only the air from the vent.
Nerves still on edge, you hastily go back to the comfort of Fires light.
Tell yourself that this house is old and on cold windy night,
The very walls crick and moan.
Unable to continue reading tells of frightful delight.
As you finally relax putting all of the thoughts of dread, and unknown horror out of your mind, save one the feeling of eyes watching on this cold Halloween night.
Settling down your eyes begin to close.
Noticing not one of the fires shadows as it grows.
You hear a voice whisper “Your time is near.”
Cold chains wrap and bind around your wrist.
You awaken to look into the face of fear.
As he raised you a high, you scream but no one can hear a sound.
A single tear is shed as you start to cry, his laugh echoes as you cry out why god why.
Hanging suspended chained from ceiling to wall, he tears off your clothes as you beg him to stop.
A chilling smile breaks his cold dark face.
His claws rip as they carve into your skin slow methodical pace.
Tasting the drops of blood as they drip, “Here with me is where your soul will rest.”
You open your eyes and think it was only a dream.
You try to move hearing the sounds of chains as they rattle. Frozen in fear you close your eyes, hoping and praying for this is all a dream.
His voice you hear as you feel the now cold blood flow down from your throat.
The last thing you see is his face as he kisses your lips so soft and whispers welcome home.
Your roommate returns from Halloweens partying calling your name.
She looks and calls I know you’re here so don’t even think of trying to scare me.
Around the corner and down the hall, she walks and looks.
Her eyes grow big she falls to the floor as she screams.
Fore now she sees your body as it hangs carved with designs of sins and hell.
Slowly she backs away unable to stand and run.
You feel a cold breeze blow on the back of your neck.
You jump breathing deeply, your heart faints a beat, as you turn your body begins to shake; your eyes open wide as you slowly turn in shock, but there is nothing to see.
You hear her voice whisper now you to will never leave.
