On this night for loves delight, we lay with your head on my chest.
I lay here wanting nothing more, than what is here in my arms.
As I rub the back of your head I try to recall, when you chose me over the rest.
Was it the way I held every door for you?
Was it the fact I listened, and remembered every word you spoke?
Or was it how I showed you a southern gentleman’s charm, with words spoken softly telling and showing you how a true man sees and treats a true lady.
And even though I was not what you would find on that lonely Valentine’s night.
On a night long before you knew, I gave unto you a gentleman’s heart.
As you look up you see my eyes fixed peacefully on you.
With a smile you say “What’s going on in that mind of yours?”
“Just remembering the first time I looked upon an angel’s light.”
You give me a kiss and lay your head back on my chest.

Your eyes fixate on the flickering fires light.
A smile erupts as you think back to all the things he did, to show you I meant to him.
From the beginning to now he still holds every door.
We can go out anywhere, and to this day he still takes my hand in his.
No matter how mad I made him, no matter how I yelled, and spoke down to him he never raised his voice to me or spoke ill of me.
To this day I will always remember that night I met my prince.
To this day I remember, how I thought he would get only one chance.
Just one chance, is I had left give.
To show me what a Southern gentleman truly has to offer.
By the end of that Valentine’s night I had lost my heart to my prince.
Ten years have come and gone.
Since that night he claimed what, was his all along.

I look into your eyes, and see forever.
I take your hand and I feel whole, and complete.
Taking you in my arms I hold a goddess.
Hearing your heartbeat, claims even the most, savage of pains never before known.
With all of my heart I thank you for giving me that one chance.
With all of my soul, on this night of loves delight, I pledge to always love you and only you.

In his words I feel time itself slow to a crawl, giving me forever with him.
With my hand in his my heart and soul join with his.
When in his arms I am held by my charming southern prince.
Feeling his chest rise and fall with every breath he takes, I take all of his fears and pat pains; as he rips mine from me.
With all of my heart I thank you for proving me wrong.
With all of my soul, on this night of loves delight, I pledge to always love you and only you.

So many grammatical errors it hurts to read
It's so nice to have you back...for the most part.

It's a little rough in a few places; you didn't read it over did you? One of the days you might want to consider 'hiring' a proofreader, and maybe even an editor. :D

I loved it, kind sir. I'm choosing to consider this my belated Christmas present, especially in light of today's specialness.

By the way....you rock!
Unbelievable...a typo! "One of the days" should read, One of these days. :faint:
I am so ditzy!!
Thats fine I like to see how people react the raw version of my work.
Everyone that reads them seems to enjoy them.
If everything you read has to be perfect as soon as you read it I am truly sorry for that.
If at some point your imagination can't seem to take over then you don't feel what you just read.

By the way it must be nice to judge peoples work when you have nothing posted on your own page.

You're okay with the rest of what I said as well?
good one... although i still think that love poetry should be written when your heart craves for it... not just for a special day... still... good work

This is very true.
I am glad you enjoyed reading it.

You know i don't want to rain on your parade but the grammar was just the smallest of your problems. Following your writing from one sentence to another makes sense you have so many continuity errors i feel like stabbing my eyes out. Maybe i could read your work and understand it if it made sense in the conventional way of reading and writing English.
